Thus far we have been disappointed in Alaska. People come here instead of the Canadian Gulf Islands, why? Looks the same and took days and multiple ocean crossings to get here. Today we got our first real taste when we rounded the corner from Wrangell narrows into Petersburg.
We docked and headed into town for dinner. The pizza joint looks to be our best bet. Turns out they took second place in an international pizza contest in Las Vegas a few years ago. One of the best pizzas we ever ate. Yeah, ok, it might be the camping food effect. But still. Finding a wood fired pizza joint in the middle of the Alaska wilderness...
