Awoke early and hungry. Very unusual. Obviously not really on this time zone yet. Dave went off to a 5:45am meeting with the US office. Melissa worked for a couple of hours then went for another breakfast of eggs benedict.
Melissa then went shopping. First stop the jewelry store to buy that necklace. She asked the jeweler if he had matching earrings, which he did not. However, since the necklace was made by him personally, he offered to make one-of-a-kind custom earrings to match. Now wearing the necklace, Melissa figured she needed a few outfits to match it. So she spent the afternoon shopping. The service here is amazing. In every store the service was better than Nordstroms. Even the discount shops. Sales clerks followed her about taking stuff out of her arms because "she was on vacation and shouldn't have to carry anything".
When Melissa returned from the hotel after a hard day of shopping she discovered the pool is closed for maintenance. So she spent time hanging out in the room working on more projects and ordering room service. When Dave got back we went to dinner at the Breakfast Creek Warf. Dave had Moreton Bay Bugs, which are named for a bay here in Brisbane. They look like a cross between a lobster and a craw fish.
