Yesterday Dave spent the day again helping folks with networking systems. Heart and Soul accidentally wired up their new extended WiFi receiver wrong and thought maybe they had blown it out. But MacGyver hooked it up to Apsaras and validated it was ok. Then he headed into town on the bus to help them buy a new WiFi router. By this morning they had it all hooked up and operational - so Heart and Soul now has functioning internet!
Then today it was time to hop in a taxi and head into Panama City. Of course we had Luis come and get us. Then we met up with Wanuskewin and Saltydog - who as it turned out were staying in "Deb's Place" which was right next door to our hotel. Deb's Place is a penthouse suite that the owner has turned into a "rent a room" style place. This turned out to work out super well for us because there was a big kitchen and living room area where we could hang out. It was great to see Steve, Joan, and of course, Vivi the dog again!
We headed off to dinner at a pizza place. A guy wandered in with a big batch of roses and tried to insist that the guys buy one for each of the girls. We tried to refuse, alas it was clear that buying the flowers was just easier. On our way out of the restaurant another guy tried to sell us roses, but we deterred him showing him the flowers we already had. The guy said something to Mike about being really hungry, so Mike handed him our box of leftover pizza. That's typical Mike.
