Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

How hot is it here? Well, I'll tell ya...

Its so hot here that the ice maker has tried to commit suicide on multiple occasions now.  Dave keeps taking it apart and doing surgery to revive it.  The only hope of making ice is to move it to the aft cabin where we have air conditioning.

Not that the air conditioning actually makes it cold.  Best it can do is cool the cabin where we sleep down from 100 to 78.  We sleep on top of the sheets constantly in search of a new "cool spot" on the bed.  We have a running "don't touch me" joke because touching means sharing body heat.

With the forward air conditioning unit out we don't want to turn on the stove and cook anything.  Its regularly over 90 degrees in the main cabin.

Melissa takes a shower every day and wets down her hair.  Not because her hair needs to be washed but because the wet hair acts like a cooling system for a little while.

On our recent inland trip we didn't pack anything other than T-shirts.  Not so much as a coat or sweater.  Melissa isn't even sure where her coat is located at this point.  If it rains its better to get wet because it might help cool you off.

But like Dave says, "its better to be hot and miserable than cold and miserable!"
