Sometimes life lessons sneak up on you. In this case, Melissa discovered that when 70+ people accepted for the cast off party that there was no way to cater for that many people from the galley on the boat. That meant (gasp!) having to ask a few friends for help. This is something I am not wired for. All tasks must be completed in a self-sufficient manner without exception. I must help everyone else around me. Must be something related to being the "big sister" in the family. Anyway, there was just no way food was gonna happen for that many people from the boat galley. So I called a few friends for help. And wouldn't you know it - no one turned me down. Hmmm. Maybe I need to ask for help more often. We had some incredible food, including Chef Blackwell who went completely overboard and made a multitude of dishes including some of his famous mini chocolate cakes with coconut jam, as well as some amazing pea salad with eggs. Jim brought spring rolls and BBQ pork sandwiches with coleslaw that was to die for. Jamie brought spaghetti. All in all, it was a feast!
