Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

Lagoon Cove

Melissa slept in while Dave shot the Greene Point Rapids.  By the time she got up we were in the infamous Johnstone Strait. While we had heard all the horror stories about how bad it could be – it was 1 foot chop seas and we ducked into Havanna Channel by 1pm before the afternoon winds kicked up and made the strait messy.  We made our way to a place called Lagoon Cove.  An amazing little resort.  The guy that built it had a sense of humor.  From the “exercise stations” to the 5pm happy hour / tall tale story telling time the place is filled with tons of fun things to do and see.  Not to mention an amazing flower garden.  Apparently the guy who built it bought the land when it was a mess – the house nearly falling down.  When his wife arrived and toured the house (after they bought it) she said “burn it to the ground”.  But he prevailed upon her – and now 20+ years later the place is an amazing little resort.  At happy hour we ate the best shrimp we’ve maybe ever eaten.  Fresh caught this morning.

In the evening, Melissa got it into her head to start cleaning the kitchen.  As in scrub it with a scrub brush and a donated toothbrush.  Dave said, “Hmmm.  You have got to figure out which drug it was that was slowing you down”.  Seems the old whirling dervish Melissa is back in action.
