Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

Lets just keep going

We left Lagoon Cove headed for Port McNeil to provision.  This meant going back out onto Johnstone Strait and then into Queen Charlotte Strait.  When we got there it was smooth as glass.  Not so much as a ripple on the water.  We got to McNeil, had hamburgers for lunch and grabbed our groceries.  It was about 4pm, but still smooth as glass. As its light here till 10pm, we decided to head back out and put a few more miles behind us and get a jump on tomorrow’s crossing of the Queen Charlotte Sound.  The winds picked up a bit, and the seas got up to about 2 foot of chop, but wasn’t uncomfortable.  The radar has gone out, so Melissa drove while Dave tried unsuccessfully to fix it.  Dave is worried about whether this will limit whether we can cross the Sound in fog tomorrow should there be any.  We pulled into a little cove in amongst the Walker Group islands which are clustered at the very furthest northern point off Vancouver Island.  It was a quiet, secluded, beautiful little spot.
