Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

Sucessfull Sea Test

The day started out calm and beautiful.  That is till we hit the Straights of Georgia.  Then it was 5 foot seas - with a short period and sharp sides.  And we were pounding up wind.  Bleck. Even took one good wave of green water over the bow.  Not Melissa's idea of a good time.  (Note to Dr. R.  - I think we have indeed now "pounded the heck" out of the boat - and nothing broke! Not even a leaky portal!) We debated whether to turn around and wait for the next day, but after a couple of hours it smoothed out and turned into a lovely day of sailing.

We made our way to Garden Bay.  This was the location of "The Night of the Great Storm".  Despite that awful experience, we love this spot.  As we pulled into the bay, wouldn't you know it, but that boat that hit us in 2008 was anchored in the bay.  A quick spin in the dingy and Dave confirmed Melissa's suspicions that it was the same one.  Note the goofy way the outboard is mounted.
