Overnight a bit of a storm kicked up. Last night waves slapping the stern were so loud that they woke Melissa out of a sound sleep. No harm as we are safely tied up at the dock. Just annoying. But the clouds and rain make for a quiet day at the marina – and we feel lazy so Dave calls and books another night.
Meanwhile Dave has been salivating over a new generator. Conversation goes like this…
Dave: So we could get a new generator for $600. Would be reliable.
Melissa: Uh huh. Can’t you fix the old one? (Knowing full well MacGyver can fix it if he wants to.)
Dave: Well, I think its getting worn out and someday I won’t be able to fix it because the bearings are going to freeze.
Melissa: Uh huh.
Dave: Well for just $200 more I can get a bigger one.
Melissa: Uh huh.
Dave: The bigger one can run the air conditioning while at anchor, plus it has electric start.
Melissa: Why didn’t you lead with that?!
