MacGyver decides to take the generator apart today.
He finds that the fuel line is busted.
Turns out there has been a recall on this part from the manufacturer – likely for quite some time. Well, no wonder it puked out all the gas on the deck. Question is how to fix it? We can order the new part but that will take weeks.
Dave decides to head home via the Bremerton ferry, take an Uber to the car at Elliot Bay marina, take the car home to the condo, pick up the mail, run a few errands, water the plants, Uber back to the ferry, and come back to Bremerton. All the way debating whether to buy the new generator and bring it back to the boat.
Instead Dave decides to buy a bit of hose he can patch up the generator with. Melissa asks him why no new generator? Dave says that despite all the past issues with the generator, this problem with the gas line is pretty contained, so he figures might as well fix it. If we were in Mexico where being without a generator could be much more impactful, here in Puget Sound we are never more than a few hours from a marina where we can hook up to power.
Meanwhile, Melissa decides to do a bit of grocery shopping. She hops in an Uber and heads to the Safeway. The Uber driver related an interesting tidbit about why there are so few Uber drivers these days – they have all gone over to Uber Eats driving where they don’t have to expose themselves to the public.
By the time she returns, Dave is back from his adventures. We head to the Anthony’s for dinner.
